DIPLOMA IN PASTRY AND BAKERY MANAGEMENT
The Pastry and Bakery Management program is professionally oriented, and is aimed at supporting the development of competencies essential to the successful functioning of the graduate, at the supervisory level, in bakery and hospitality organizations
Students successfully completing this diploma program should be well equipped for entry into, and rapid progression within, the supervisory to management levels of the hotel services sector.
After graduating from this program students should be able to work in the following areas in assistant positions and in supervisory positions after some years of professional experience:
- Bakery managers
- Coffee shop owners
- Ice cream parlor managers
- Pastry chefs
- Fruit carvers
- Food quality assurance
- Pastry educators
- Pastry consultant
Admissions to the program are carried out within the provisions of the National Council for Higher education (NCHE) Uganda, and the Institute’s policies relating to admissions.
Candidates for admission will be required to possess:
- One principal pass and two subsidiaries obtained at the same sitting and 5 passes at ‘O’ level obtained at the same sitting or
- Certificate in hotel/institutional catering obtained from a recognised Institution or examination board.
- Any other qualification considered by the admission board of Hotel Traveling Tourism Institutes as equivalent to ‘A’ level.
